Ditch the Razor: 10% Off Laser Hair Removal Packages This November
Kasey Bennett, FNP-BCQuick math: if you shave your legs four times a week, that’s roughly 200 shaves a year. Add in the underarms, the bikini line, the waxing appointments you schedule around vacations, and the ingrown hairs that show up two days later, and hair removal quietly becomes one of the most time-consuming parts of your routine. Laser hair removal is how you get that time back.
This November, our monthly special at Hi, Finch is 10% off all laser hair removal packages. Every package includes a series of 8 treatments with BBL HERO, and the timing isn’t an accident. A full series takes months to complete, so starting now puts you in a great position to be well into (or wrapping up) your treatments by the time Nashville summer rolls around.
Here’s what makes BBL HERO hair removal different, which areas we treat, and why it takes a series to get real results.
What Is BBL HERO Laser Hair Removal?
BBL HERO is the same broadband light device many of our Nashville patients already know from their photofacial treatments for sun damage, redness, and acne. It also happens to be an excellent hair removal tool.
Technically, BBL is broadband light rather than a single-wavelength laser, but “laser hair removal” is what most people call it, so that’s the term we use too. The principle is the same: light energy is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair shaft and carried down into the follicle as heat. That heat damages the follicle’s ability to grow a new hair, while the surrounding skin is left intact.
“HERO” stands for High Energy Rapid Output. Instead of firing one stationary pulse at a time, the handpiece glides across the skin in continuous motion, delivering energy gradually across the treatment area. That technique is a big part of why the experience feels so different from what you may have heard about laser hair removal elsewhere.
Long-Term Hair Reduction, Backed by Research
Broadband light hair removal has been studied for decades. In one prospective study of patients treated with a broad-spectrum pulsed light source, researchers reported an average hair removal efficiency of 76% at long-term follow-up, with side effects that were mild and temporary.¹ The American Academy of Dermatology also notes that hair that does regrow after treatment is typically finer, lighter, and less noticeable.²
We’ll be honest about what that means: laser hair removal is long-term hair reduction, not a guarantee that every single hair is gone forever. Many patients experience dramatic, lasting reduction, and some areas (especially hormonally influenced areas like the chin and upper lip) may need an occasional maintenance session to stay smooth.
Comfortable, No Downtime, and Back to Your Day
If you’ve ever had laser hair removal on another device and walked out vowing never again, we hear you. Some hair removal technologies use high-energy single pulses that can feel like a sharp, repeated snap.
BBL HERO works differently. Because the energy is delivered gradually with the handpiece in motion, most of our patients find hair removal with BBL to be comfortable overall. The most common description we hear is a warm sensation as the handpiece moves across the skin. No numbing cream marathon, no white-knuckling through it.
There’s also no downtime. You may notice some mild redness or small raised bumps around the follicles right after treatment, which typically settles within a few hours. You can head straight back to work, run errands, or meet friends for dinner afterward.
A few simple rules keep your skin happy and your results on track:
- Shave before your appointment. The light needs to travel down the hair shaft to the follicle, not burn the hair sitting on the surface.
- Skip waxing, plucking, and threading during your series. These pull out the root, which is the exact target BBL HERO needs to reach. Shaving between sessions is completely fine.
- Protect your skin from the sun. Avoid tanning and tanning beds, and wear SPF 50 on any treated area that sees daylight. Tanned skin competes with the hair for the light’s energy.
Areas We Treat at Our Nashville Practice
Almost any area with unwanted dark hair can be treated with BBL HERO. Our most popular areas include:
- Underarms: Our number-one request. Small area, fast treatment, and no more razor burn or underarm stubble.
- Legs: Full or lower legs, for anyone ready to retire the daily shave.
- Arms: Full or forearms.
- Bikini and Brazilian: Say goodbye to waxing appointments and the ingrown hairs that follow.
- Face: Upper lip, chin, jawline, and sideburns.
- Back of the neck: Extremely popular with our male patients. It keeps your neckline clean between haircuts without the razor irritation.
- Back and shoulders: Another favorite for men, since it’s a hard area to maintain on your own.
- Chest and abdomen: Including the “happy trail.”
Not sure where to start? Many patients begin with one area and add another once they see how easy it is. We’ll walk you through options at your consultation.
Who’s a Great Candidate?
Because BBL HERO targets the pigment in the hair, it works best on hair that has color to it. Dark brown and black hair typically respond best. Very light blonde, gray, white, and red hair contain little melanin for the light to target, so they generally aren’t good candidates for light-based hair removal. Skin tone, recent sun exposure, and medications also matter, which is why we will assess your skin and hair before building your treatment plan.
Why Laser Hair Removal Takes a Series of 8
This is the question we get most, and the answer comes down to how hair grows.
Every hair on your body cycles through three phases: an active growth phase (anagen), a transition phase (catagen), and a resting phase (telogen). Laser hair removal is most effective on hairs in the active growth phase, when the hair is still connected to the follicle and carries the most pigment. At any given time, only a portion of the hair in a treatment area is actively growing.
That means each session reaches a fraction of your follicles. The AAD notes that a single treatment typically reduces hair by about 10% to 25%, which is why laser hair removal is done as a series of sessions spaced weeks apart.² Each appointment catches a new wave of follicles as they cycle into growth, and the results build with every visit.
That’s exactly why we sell laser hair removal at Hi, Finch as a package of 8 treatments. It’s the number we’ve found gives most patients a meaningful, lasting result, and buying it as a package means you’re committed to finishing the series instead of stopping halfway, when results are only partial. Your provider will space your sessions based on the area being treated and how your hair responds.
Start in November, Be Smooth by Summer
Because treatments are spaced weeks apart, a full series of 8 takes several months to complete. Do the math backward from your first pool day or beach trip, and November is the sweet spot.
Fall and winter also happen to be ideal for laser hair removal. Your skin is less tan, you’re spending less time in direct sun, and your legs are under jeans anyway. By the time Nashville hits its first 90-degree day, you’ll be well into your series, with a lot less hair to deal with.
Why It’s an Easy Alternative to Shaving and Waxing
Shaving and waxing work, temporarily. Then you do them again. And again. Here’s how laser hair removal stacks up:
Shaving
Shaving cuts hair at the surface, so regrowth starts immediately. It’s also the leading cause of razor burn, nicks, and razor bumps, especially on the bikini line, underarms, and the back of the neck. For patients prone to ingrown hairs, laser hair removal can be a game-changer, since fewer hairs growing back means fewer hairs getting trapped under the skin. Waxing
Waxing lasts longer than shaving, but it requires growing hair out between appointments, hurts every single time, and can leave behind redness, irritation, and ingrowns. And the appointments never end.
Laser Hair Removal
A review of laser and light-based hair removal found that these treatments outperform shaving, waxing, and electrolysis for hair reduction.³ After you complete your series, you’re looking at significantly less hair, finer regrowth, and far fewer razors in your shopping cart. Over time, many patients find the one-time investment in a package costs less than years of waxing appointments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does laser hair removal with BBL HERO hurt?
Most patients find BBL HERO hair removal comfortable overall. Because the handpiece moves continuously across the skin and delivers energy gradually, it typically feels like warmth rather than a sharp snap. Sensitive areas like the bikini line may feel a bit more intense, and we’ll adjust to keep you comfortable.
How many laser hair removal treatments will I need?
We recommend a series of 8 treatments, which is why our packages include 8 sessions. Hair grows in cycles and only actively growing hairs respond to treatment, so multiple sessions spaced weeks apart are needed to reach each follicle. Some areas, like the face, may need occasional maintenance afterward.
Is laser hair removal permanent?
Laser hair removal provides long-term hair reduction rather than guaranteed permanent removal of every hair. Many patients experience a dramatic, lasting reduction, and any regrowth tends to be finer and lighter. Hormonally driven areas, like the chin, may need periodic touch-ups.
Can I shave between laser hair removal sessions?
Yes, and you should shave before each appointment. What you want to avoid during your series is waxing, plucking, threading, or epilating, because those remove the hair root that BBL HERO needs to target.
Does laser hair removal work on blonde or gray hair?
Light-based hair removal targets pigment in the hair, so it works best on darker hair. Very light blonde, gray, white, and red hairs usually don’t have enough pigment to respond well. Your provider will assess your hair and skin at your consultation to confirm you’re a good candidate.
