What to expect

  • Arrive to your appointment with a clean face (i.e. no makeup or skincare products).
  • Schedule your appointment at least 24 hours prior to a special event. Redness and sensitivity may be apparent in that time period.
  • Let the provider know if you have a history of cold sores. An antiviral may be prescribed.You may not have an active rash in the area being treated.
  • Avoidance of Accutane for the past 6 months is required.
  • Avoidance of laser procedures and waxing for the past 7 days is required.
  • Discontinue topical retinoids 24 hours before treatment to reduce sensitivity.
  • If pregnant, you must receive clearance from OB/GYN.
  • Your provider will examine your face and discuss your goals.
  • A custom treatment plan and skin care cocktail will be curated just for you.
  • Your skin will be cleansed, and a numbing cream may be applied to ensure comfort.
  • The chosen ingredients will be placed in the sterile tube of the AQUAGOLD device.
  • The ingredients will be pressed into your skin via the 24-carat gold ultrafine needles.
  • Redness or sensitivity might be present (and last up 24 hours).
  • Do not pick or scratch at treated skin.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise or sweating for 24 hours.
  • Avoid sun tanning and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
  • If exposed to the sun, always use broad spectrum SPF 30+ and reapply every 2 hours.
  • Recommend follow up and repeat treatments in 4-6 weeks when treating acne, scars and hyperpigmentation and in 12 weeks for management.
  • Best results are obtained in a series of 4-6 treatments.
